John Wick prequel The Continental: Mel Gibson's Character

"John Wick: Chapter 4" proved that Keanu Reeves' action saga is a legitimate blockbuster franchise with a $418 million global total.

But Lionsgate, the production company for the Wick films,

has been aware of this for a while. Because of this, the long-gestating spin-offs have taken their time to develop.

In June 2024, the spin-off film "Ballerina," which stars Ana De Armas, will arrive; however,

a three-part prequel series titled "The Continental" will come before.

And even while the latter has taken a while to come, we're now close to the finish line thanks to Peacock,

the platform that will host the show, which released a trailer in April 2023 announcing "The Continental" would premiere in September of this year.

The series, which is set in 1970s New York, will center on a young Winston (played by Colin Woodell),
