In an interview with Deadline, producer Basil Iwanyk disclosed that the two individuals are planning to travel to Japan
in order to iron out the last kinks in the plot while drinking a few bottles of whiskey together.
"Once they get through their hangovers, if Keanu and Chad have figured out something cool,
if they've an organic way back in that doesn't feel like bullshit, then there will be a John Wick 5," he affirmed.

"That trip to Japan, it's like waiting for a boat to emerge out of the smoke, but that's the impetus," continued Iwanyk.
"But that's where we are right now." These movies are extremely challenging for Keanu and Chad, as well as for everyone else.
By the time each one is over, the majority of those involved have vowed never to participate in it again, stating that it is too difficult and that they are not getting any younger.
