Heather Armstrong, a trailblazing mommy blogger who openly discussed her problems as a mother and her struggles with depression and alcoholism on her website Dooce.com and on social media, passed away at the age of 47.
Armstrong founded Dooce in 2001 and developed it into a successful career. She had two children with her ex-husband and business partner, Jon Armstrong.
She was a pioneering and well-known mommy blogger who wrote openly about her kids, relationships, and other struggles.
She turned her blog, Instagram, and other accomplishments into book sales and released a memoir in 2009 called "It Sucked and Then I Cried: How I Had a Baby, a Breakdown, and a Much Needed Margarita."
The Armstrongs made their separation public in 2012. Later that year, they got divorced. Nearly six years ago, she started dating Ashdown, a former U.S. senate candidate.
