J.T. Realmuto left the Rockies' 6-3 win in the top of the seventh after injured his right hand running headfirst into third base two innings earlier. That ruined a promising evening.
Swelling is decreased. It's sore but better than when he left the game. So good. He jammed. He should be ready Sunday.
Realmuto caught two more innings before being replaced by Garrett Stubbs in the seventh. If the injury is worse than expected, the Phillies would need to trade Stubbs, their only other catcher.
After missing the first month-and-a-half due to an elbow injury in spring training, Ranger Suarez will make his 2023 debut Saturday night. That should strengthen rotation.
