Edmunds calls the used-car market "uncharted" as high prices persist. 

Those looking for a deal on a used automobile will probably not find one with the spring car purchasing season in full force.

In a recent research titled "Used Market Enters Uncharted Territory Post-Pandemic," Edmunds.com,  

the vehicle-shopping website, used car prices were found to be remained historically high despite recent little softening. 

The average used vehicle transaction price in Q1 fell 6.4% year over year, 

according to Edmunds' data mined from dealer retail pricing, although it is still up 44% from five years ago. 

Ivan Drury, an analyst for Edmunds, stated in the research study that used car prices  ...

...have "slightly inched back toward Earth with the return of price drops and seasonal depreciation,
