Tom Holland and Dwayne Johnson discuss their mental health struggles.
The Spider-Man: No Way Home actor emphasizes mental health. Holland announced in August 2022 that he was leaving social media because he "spiraled" from nasty remarks.
Holland said filming his new Apple TV+ comedy The Crowded Room was mentally exhausting. In an EW interview, he said, “I’m no stranger to the physical aspects of the job doing the whole action-movie thing.
But the mental aspect really banged me up and it took a long time for me to recuperate and come back to reality.”
Holland stated he had "a bit of a meltdown at home and thinking like, 'I'm going to shave my head'" because he couldn't separate himself from his series role.
Shave my head to get rid of this character. I didn't because we were mid-shoot. It was unique.” Sasha Lane and professionals helped the actress "recognize triggers" and "things that stress me out."
Johnson told The Pivot that he first suffered sadness when a shoulder injury terminated his football career.
“[I] didn’t want to go to school,” the actor remarked. “I was leaving. Left school. I left midterm-free. I didn't know what it was then.
I didn't understand mental health. I didn't know depression. I just knew. Skipping team meetings. Wasn’t involved.”
