Columbus defeat extends Galaxy's road scoring slump.

Lucas Zelarayán and Malte Amundsen scored first-half goals and Patrick Schulte kept them out as the Columbus Crew defeated the Galaxy 2-0 on Wednesday night.

Zelarayán's 25th-minute goal put Columbus (5-4-3) ahead. In his 10th game, Cucho Hernández assisted Zelarayán's fifth goal.

Amundsen's 43rd-minute goal, assisted by Alexandru Matan, gave the Crew a 2-0 halftime lead.

In his only appearance this season, Amundsen substituted for 13 minutes. New York City FC scored Amundsen's only other MLS goal in 2021.

The Crew beat the Galaxy 3-1 in May 2019. Columbus improves to 4-0-2 against L.A. The Galaxy last won in Columbus 1-0 in September 2011.

The Galaxy are 0-5-2 on the road since last season's playoffs, including five shutouts. L.A. hasn't gone six away games without scoring since 2004-05.

Crew goalkeeper Patrick Schulte made two saves. Galaxy (2-7-3) Jonathan Bond saved one.

FC Cincinnati hosts Columbus on Saturday. DC United hosts the Galaxy on Saturday.
