Chris Stapleton wins the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards for entertainer!
At the annual country music awards, the "You Should Probably Leave" singer-songwriter defeated Jason Aldean, Kane Brown, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and Morgan Wallen.
"I never thought I'd win this award," he said. My wife Morgane, thank you for all your hard work.
Stapleton thanked his label, management, and "all the guys on the road, touring."
"I don't know what to say, but I want to say that my kids at home take up a lot of my time and a lot of my wife's time so we can do this," he said as he gave the award to his and Morgane's five children: Ada, Waylon, Macon, Samuel, and another son whose name has not been revealed. "This is for them."
The winner of the Grammy was also up for male artist of the year and song of the year for "You Should Probably Leave" at this year's show.
Stapleton has been up for artist of the year four times at the ACM Awards, in 2022, 2021, 2019, and 2018. His most recent album, Starting Over, came out in 2020. It has two No. 1 songs on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart: "Starting Over" and "You Should Probably Leave."
Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton hosted the 2023 ACM Awards, which were shown live on Prime Video from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. On Friday, you can watch the event for free on Amazon Freevee.
