It appears that Randy Orton's return to WWE wrestling may be some time away.
In a recent interview with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda Wrestling, Bob Orton, Orton's father and a WWE Hall of Famer, described his son's current situation in the wrestling industry.
According to the older Orton, his son has been warned against returning until he has fully recovered from back fusion surgery he underwent in November.
"He's training, so we'll see what happens; I don't know," he remarked. I guess he may return if he wants to, but he's quite well taken care of for now.
In my opinion, he doesn't have to. And I believe the physicians have warned him against it. But Randy is going to do Randy things.
Orton was "nowhere close" to a return in April, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WrestlingInc's Marco Rovere).
The Viper and Matt Riddle competed in their final WWE battle against The Usos for the tag team titles in May of 2022.
Despite his lengthy absence, Orton's 14 world titles speak for themselves.
