Anthony Davis leaves Warriors loss after head injury

SACRAMENTO -- Midway through the fourth quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers' 121-106 Game 5 defeat to the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday,

Anthony Davis left the game and did not come back after being ...

...accidentally knocked on the side of the head by Kevon Looney of Golden State.

Jon Ishop, an athletic trainer, first assessed Davis on the Lakers' bench before he retreated to the back of the arena for additional medical care.

After feeling "woozy," Davis was pushed into a training area in a wheelchair,

according to an ESPN source. At the conclusion of the game, Davis was free to exit the arena alone, walking to the team bus.

After a preliminary assessment of Davis, there was no mention of a concussion, a source close to the Lakers center told ESPN.

"Obviously everyone saw he took a shot to the head, but we just checked on him," Lakers coach Darvin Ham said following the game.
